Acoustic attenuation of cohesive sediments (mud) at high ultrasound frequencies

نویسندگان

چکیده

The acoustic attenuation of cohesive sediment (mud) at high frequencies ranging from 0.5 MHz to 5.0 is determined. Conventional laboratory experiments based on the pulse-echo technique were performed using a single element immersible ultrasound transducer. results showed however that due time-changing properties mud different approach process data required. Additional determine multiple alternative ultrasonic devices conducted. Using conventional as benchmark reliability these considered acceptable. This manuscript was originally submitted ICUA 2022 conference.

Study of the effect of shape on acoustic performance of micro perforated absorbent at low frequencies

Introduction: Micro-perforated absorbents are one of the structures that are widely used nowadays. The sound absorption mechanism is performed by viscous energy losses in the cavities on the plate. In this study, the acoustic properties of non-flat perforated panels in oblique angle was investigated in numerical method. Material and Methods: This paper examined the effect of the surface shape ...

Attenuation and velocity dispersion at seismic frequencies

Attenuation and velocity dispersion are strongly dependent on pore fluids, particularly partial gas saturation, and thus could become valuable direct hydrocarbon indicators. Unfortunately, application of these properties is not frequent due to incomplete understanding of the phenomena and lack of appropriate tools to extract the information. Laboratory measurements at frequencies and amplitudes...

Temperature dependence of acoustic harmonics generated by nonlinear ultrasound wave propagation in water at various frequencies.

Ultrasound-based thermometry requires a temperature-sensitive acoustic parameter that can be used to estimate the temperature by tracking changes in that parameter during heating. The objective of this study is to investigate the temperature dependence of acoustic harmonics generated by nonlinear ultrasound wave propagation in water at various pulse transmit frequencies from 1 to 20 MHz. Simula...

Determination of sediments diameter using acoustic waves

The use of acoustic waves in researches related to sea water is of most importance among scientists recently. Since these waves are the only waves, transmitted in water with lowest attenuation and high speed, they can be used in many scientific fields. The main goal of this research is to better understand the physics and mechanisms of sound-seabed interaction, including acoustic penetration, p...
